Joined protesters on Saba Boulevard in Mashhad (Seyyedi neighborhood) after taking his mother to the shrine of Imam Reza. Security forces violently attacked the crowd; witnesses saw him beaten severely and taken away. His body was found 9 days later in the Behesht-e Reza morgue in Mashhad, showing he had been shot in the genital area and beaten so severely his teeth were shattered and his face was unrecognizable; he was identified only by a distinguishing mark on his hand. He was buried quietly under heavy security pressure in Forootagheh village cemetery, Kashmar, with only about 50 people present.
