Killed by live ammunition fired by security forces in the main street of his residence (Sarqanat), Qal'eh Hassan Khan region, Tehran (Qods). His body was immediately removed by government forces, and his family was pressured to declare the cause of death as 'accident'. The body was handed over only after the family signed an undertaking and accepted the narrative announced by the governorship. Sadegh Ghorbani had recently married.
