Shot with two bullets to the throat and chest by security forces on Derakhti Street in Karaj. His body was found by family after ten days in the morgue of Behesht Sakineh. He had requested to be buried next to his father's grave (his father was executed by the Islamic Republic in 1368/1989), but security forces refused permission because both were considered political. He was buried in section 326 of Tehran's Grand Cemetery instead. He left behind an 8-year-old son.
