Killed by war bullet (گلوله جنگی) in front of the Sarafraz Basij base in Neyriz county, Fars province. Witnesses said he was first knocked unconscious by tear gas hitting his chest, security forces prevented an ambulance from reaching him for treatment, and he was then shot with a coup de grâce. His body was held by authorities for seven days and his family was not allowed to see it; he was buried in the middle of the night on his birthday under security presence in freezing cold, with only a few family members present who had been held in isolation without communication devices for hours beforehand. He was a goalkeeper and head coach of youth futsal teams.
